Author William Sleator 1945-2011

Prolific science-fiction author William Sleator passed away Thursday in Thailand at the age of 66 after crafting more than 30 books that spoke to young children, teens, and adults alike. Read more about it from School Library Journal Online.

Another Hot Summer

This summer has seen record temperatures and people are literally hiding inside. By now television, Facebook, and texting is probably getting old. Beat the heat and the boredom by cracking open a book or magazine. Or... go see the upcoming movie "The Help" based on the bestselling book by Kathryn Stockett. Of course, you could always go see the final installment to the Harry Potter series.
